Meet the Staff  

Executive Director

 

Paul Dullea has served as MATA Executive Director since 2010.  Before joining MATA, Paul served 10 years as Public Service Director and Director of Community Affairs/Foundation Programs for the Boston Bar Association (BBA) and Boston Bar Foundation.  He managed an annual access to justice grantmaking program and oversaw 20 public interest, diversity, and leadership development programs at the BBA. Two of these initiatives garnered national awards during Paul's tenure. He also worked as counsel to the Massachusetts Labor Relations Commission and Associate General Counsel to the American Federation of State County and Municipal Employees. He holds a BA from UMass Amherst and a JD from Suffolk Law School. During law school, Paul co-founded the Suffolk Public Interest Law Group and received a University of Michigan Child Welfare Law Fellowship.  Before law school, Paul worked in the CityBound youth program at the Thompson Island Outward Bound Education Center. He is a member of the National Association of Trial Lawyer Executives and the American Association for Justice.  Paul serves on the Human Rights Committee of Community Works Services.  He lives with his family in Westwood.

Director of Public Relations & Development

 

Sheila Sweeney has been the Director of Development & Public Relations for the Academy since 1988. She was the Fundraising Director for the New York State Trial Lawyers prior to coming to the Academy, and before that specialized in legislative fundraising campaigns for trial attorneys in New York, Arizona, Florida and California. Sheila was a public relations executive for actress Elizabeth Taylor as well as a corporate and event fundraiser for The American Foundation for Aids Research (AMFAR) while living in New York. She is an active member of the National Association of Trial Lawyer Executives (NATLE). Sheila is a free-lance writer, and spends her time at her cottage on Webster Lake in New Hampshire when she is not working.

Office Manager

 

Wendy Proodian has been with MATA since 2010.  She is a seasoned administrative professional with proven success in a variety of business positions. Prior to joining MATA, Wendy's experience included working as an Executive Assistant to the President and Vice-President of Marsh & McLennan Co., and as an Administrative Assistant/Paralegal for several law firms,  and a local accounting firm. A graduate of North Shore Community College with an AS in Paralegal Studies, she prides herself on supporting the MATA members and staff through her professional skills, office management expertise, and computer knowledge.

At Quinn & Morris, LLP, our experience and reputation make us a trusted lobbying resource. We work with clients on a variety of government-based concerns and lobbying issues. We represent businesses, trade associations, nonprofit organizations, government entities, political action committees, and individuals before the Massachusetts legislative, executive and regulatory bodies. We also work with political action committees and candidate committees, including formation, documentation, and ongoing compliance concerns.

Quinn & Morris has lobbied for complex legislation and has participated in drafting legislation and regulations.
